Redirect Your Podcast
Should you ever need to move away from Nucleus hosting your RSS feed to a different platform that has a new RSS feed, you can choose to redirect your Nucleus RSS feed to your new RSS feed.
Click Actions and select "Move This Podcast."
By default, Hosted will be selected, as Nucleus is currently hosting your RSS feed.
Click Moved (redirect) to begin the process of pointing your RSS feed elsewhere.
Add the RSS feed from your new podcast host and click the box indicating that you understand the ramifications.
Click Yes, Redirect my Feed.
Then type in MOVE NOW all in caps.
At this point, anyone who tries accessing Nucleus' RSS feed for your podcast should be redirected to your new RSS feed.
Timeline To Keep The Redirect Active
You may have some questions about this process like, how long will this take to be active, do I still need a Nucleus subscription? Below are some FAQs and their answers.
How long does the redirect need to remain active?
- Until any listing services you care about have updated their internal data to look at the new location. You can use https://getrssfeed.com and paste in the Apple podcast or Spotify link to find out what the original RSS feed is that is being used by that service to build the episode list.
Do I need to keep my Nucleus subscription active?
- Yes. Nucleus is still hosting it, So as long as you need to keep the redirect functioning (i.e. until all the podcast platforms you care about know where to now go for the RSS feed), you'll need to keep your Nucleus subscription active, at least for Web/Sermons.
How long does it take for redirects to take effect?
- Usually no more than a day or two, but it's completely up to each podcast platform you care about. So it's important to keep monitoring those platforms until you see that they've understood where the new RSS feed is located.
