Steps Involved In Transitioning From RebelGive

If you're ready to begin transitioning from RebelGive to Nucleus, follow these steps outlined below.

But first, make sure you've read this article. There are a lot of important details there explaining some differences between RebelGive and Nucleus Giving that are good to know to ensure the smoothest transition process possible.


Step 1: Contact us

If you haven't yet done so, send us an email to hello@rebelgive.com and let us know that you want to switch to using Nucleus 2 Giving. We'll provide you with some instructions to get you started.


Step 2: Complete a "bank change" form

While you likely won't actually need to change your deposit bank account (though this would be a good opportunity to do so if you need to), our card processor needs a bank change form completed so they have all the correct bank account information (including a voided check or official signed bank letter).

The bank change form will need to be signed by the official account signer listed in our card processor's system. Before sending the form, we will confirm with you who that person is.


Note:
  • If you the person listed in our card processor's system is no longer the active account signer, we will need to send an account signer change form first and change that legally in their system before we can upload the bank change form.


Step 3: Wait for our signal

After we send the account signer the bank change form, we'll begin to switch over your RebelGive account to Nucleus, making sure that everything is corrected, connected, and updated. Once that's taken care of, we'll notify you with the good news that you can begin using Nucleus 2.

This means, once you hear back from us, you can install the Next Steps Launcher on your website and use your new GivingFlow.

Note:
  • Even if you haven't sent us the completed bank change form, you might still hear from us that it's okay to begin using Nucleus 2. This means you could install the Launcher, use your new GivingFlow, and point your Givers to the new login URL before the bank change form has been completed or passed onto our card processor. This is because you only need to wait for our team to make subscription changes on our end to begin using Nucleus 2, rather than waiting for information to be updated within our card processor's system, since the deposit bank account is not actually changing.
  • Because there will be some cross over where your account might not be fully updated within our card processor's system, while everything else is updated in our own system, there will likely be some ACH fees that won't line up 100% with what you see between your Nucleus Dashboard and your bank account when the fees are extracted. Step 4: Communicate the changes with your church

Once you hear from us, you can begin communicating with your church that a few things are changing with online giving, namely:

  • That the platform is now called Nucleus, not RebelGive
  • Givers will now cover a very small fee of 25 cents for ACH donations (for any one-time or recurring gifts).
  • Givers can login to their My Nucleus account at https://my.nucleus.church

Other than that, everything else remains exactly the same! (Note: if they have existing recurring donations these will continue as is, the giver will not need to go and set it up again.)


Step 5: Confirmation of "bank change"

Again, while there likely won't be any actual bank account change happening, we'll confirm with you once this aspect of the transition has been completed. At this point, our card processor will have changed your account over so that your Givers are now covering the ACH fees instead of RebelGive.

If you've already been using the Nucleus 2 GivingFlow to take in ACH donations, up until we confirm the bank account change, RebelGive would have still been covering the ACH fees. This means there might be a bit of a discrepancy of how much is removed from your bank account for ACH fees within the first week of the next month. But after that, all ACH fees should match with all the donations from the previous month to help you keep track of those withdrawals.


Step 6: Enjoy

At this point, now you can enjoy the new experience that both you and your Givers have. Plus you can now enjoy using the Next Steps Launcher - for free!
