Adjust The "Discovery Message"
While The Launcher can be accessed by clicking or tapping the button on the bottom right or left hand corner of your website, some people may not realize what it is and ignore it altogether. How sad would it be that all your church's next steps are housed within The Launcher, but go unnoticed? (Answer: It would be very sad ðŸ˜)
Thankfully, The Launcher comes with a Discovery Message that pops out of the button to grab your attention and simultaneously educates first-time visitors to your website what The Launcher is all about. (No more being sad 🙌)
Not only that, but you can customize what the Discovery Message says to make it unique to your particular context. Let's check out how to do this.
To begin, you’ll want to go to The Launcher in your Next Steps, and then select Customize Text. Click here for a quick link.
In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.
- Adjust The Discovery Message
- Preview The Discovery Message
- How & When Does The Discovery Message Appear?
Adjust The Discovery Message
The Discovery Message consists of two lines: the title and the byline. If you’d like to adjust the default text, use the standard messaging as a guideline for your updated text. Remember to keep it short and brief so it all fits nicely on the Discovery Message badge - and so that people can read it before it disappears.
Once you're happy with your edits, remember to save your changes!
Preview The Discovery Message
To see what the Discovery Message looks like, you can preview The Launcher and see it in action.
Simply click the Preview button in the top right corner.
This will open a new tab in your browser and then load The Launcher Button in the bottom right or left corner of your screen (whichever side you have it designated to load on, as set here).
To go back to your Nucleus Dashboard, simply exit out of the new tab and go back to your original tab.
How & When Does The Discovery Message Appear?
The Discovery Message appears to all first-time visitors to your church's website.
It pops out a couple seconds after the Button loads on your site, and then stays visible for about 10 seconds before collapsing back into the Button.
To balance between being educational and constant badgering, the Discovery Message will load only once a day until you click on The Launcher Button.
After that, the Discovery Message will no longer pop out of the Button unless that person goes to your website using a different browser or different device and visits your church's website for the first time then. (If they clear their browser's cache and cookies, this will also reset the Discovery Message for them.)
