Add Nucleus Web To Mobile Device Home Screen

One key opinion that Nucleus has always held is that most churches don't need a custom app. We have an entire blog post explaining why we maintain this position even today.

But did you know that you can save a webpage to your mobile device's home screen? It's true! Without asking people to download an app which takes up precious phone memory/storage, people can save a quick link on their home screen which makes it feel like they're opening an app, when in reality it's a shortcut to opening their device's browser to that specific web page.

So let's explore how to easily do this for both Apple and Android devices. Then you can share this with your congregation the next time you promote your church's website!

In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.

Add Nucleus Website Shortcut To An Apple Device

To save your Nucleus Website to an iPhone/iPad/iPhone home screen, begin by visiting your Nucleus URL using your mobile Safari browser (Example: https://lifeabundant.la/).

Then click on the Share button on the browser’s toolbar. (That’s the rectangle with an arrow pointing upward.) This will open up the Share Menu.

Scroll down and tap the Add to Home Screen option.

Next, name the shortcut. An easy name would be the name of your church.

Then, click the Add button.

Once added, you can move the icon anywhere on the home screen, just like you can any typical app.

Note: The icon used for this shortcut is the App-Style Icon in your Site Settings. Click here to see/upload a new icon for your home screen short cut.

Add Nucleus Website Shortcut To An Android Device

To save your Nucleus Website to an Android device's home screen, begin by visiting your Nucleus URL using your mobile device's browser (Example: https://lifeabundant.la/).

Then click the Menu button and tap Add to Home screen.
