Redirect & Move Your Podcast From Nucleus 1 To Nucleus 2
If you're coming from Nucleus 1 Sermons and were using the RSS feed provided there, you might have realized by now that the RSS feed in your Nucleus 2 Sermons is different.
Assuming you're wanting to continue pushing your sermon content to your podcast and you don't want to keep updating your Nucleus 1 Sermons account (because that sounds like a lot of work to do double duty 😅), it's time to consider how to move your podcast to your new RSS feed provided in your Nucleus 2 Dashboard.
Note: This article only explores how to move your podcast from your Nucleus 1 RSS feed to your Nucleus 2 RSS feed. To learn how to migrate all your previous sermon content on Nucleus 1 to your Nucleus 2 account, click here.
In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.
- Set Up Your Podcast & Add Your Episodes
- Add Your Nucleus 2 RSS Feed to your Nucleus 1 Account
- Update Your RSS Feed In Each Podcast Platform
- How Long Will It Take For My New RSS Feed To Take Over?
Set Up Your Podcast & Add Your Episodes
Before you forward your Nucleus 1 RSS feed to your Nucleus 2 RSS feed, it's important that you have content in your Nucleus 2 podcast. Otherwise, there's not much point to forwarding your RSS feed yet.
This means first, you'll need to have added at least one sermon to your account and then added it as an episode to your podcast. You can create sermons here in your Sermons Panel.
For a guide on how to create sermons, click here.
Next, you want to make sure that you've set up your podcast with all the correct information. You can do this by going to your Podcast Panel here.
Once there, click Edit Podcast Info.
Here, you can add in all your podcast's details to ensure you have all the appropriate information necessary for podcast platforms to accept your new RSS feed. (Don't forget to also check out the Advanced tab in the sidebar.)

Add Your Nucleus 2 RSS Feed to your Nucleus 1 Account
Once you have your podcast all set up in your Nucleus 2 account, it's time to redirect your Nucleus 1 RSS feed to your Nucleus 2 RSS feed.
To do this, it's helpful to have the following two tabs open:
We recommend right clicking on both links and selecting Open Link In New Tab so you can easily switch between the two Dashboards.
In your Nucleus 2 Dashboard, click Copy Feed URL.
Then, head over to your Nucleus 1 Dashboard's Podcast RSS Feed Settings.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and paste the RSS feed in the New Feed URL field. Pasting your new RSS feed here will inform podcast platforms where your old RSS feed exists that the update to your RSS feed was intentional. Otherwise, they might still try to retrieve updates from the old RSS feed.
Don't forget to click Save Settings.
Note: Once all of your podcast platforms have switched and are using the updated RSS feed, it's actually helpful to remove the RSS feed from the New Feed URL field here, since at that point, the RSS feed is no longer "new".
Update Your RSS Feed In Each Podcast Platform
While the redirect you created (by following the above section) is helpful to do in Nucleus 1, it's also important to manually update your RSS feed in each podcast platform where you old RSS feed exists.
We have an entire guide on how to add an RSS feed to various popular podcast platforms. The only difference is that you don't need to create a new account with them. You just need to swap out your old RSS feed with your Nucleus 2 RSS feed.
Click here to view that entire guide.
But if you're wanting a quick start on this, below are some 3rd party guides that should point you in the right direction, with some caveats explained where necessary.
- Apple: Follow everything from Steps 1-5 here, except you'll be pasting your Nucleus 2 RSS feed.
- Spotify: Follow these instructions.
- Google: Follow everything from Steps 1-6 here, except you'll be pasting your Nucleus 2 RSS feed.
- Amazon: While this is a long article, there are short instructions here. Scroll down to the section titled How can I update my podcast's RSS feed URL on Amazon Music and Audible?
- Podcast Addict: While this guide doesn't showcase how to swap an RSS feed, this guide shows how to add a new one.
In some cases, like with Google, a podcast platform will send the email address associated with that account a secret code to verify the ownership of the RSS feed and to verify the changes being made.
If you receive that code, copy it from your email and go to your Podcast Panel here. Click Edit Podcast Info.
From there, click Advanced in the left sidebar. Then, scroll down and paste the code in the Feed Verification Code field.
Once done, you can choose to Publish your changes, or click Exit and then Save & Close.
Doing this will save your changes without publishing them. But if you've come this far in the process, chances are you want to publish your changes right away so that your podcast platform can update as quickly as possible.
How Long Will It Take For My New RSS Feed To Take Over?
Every podcast platform has their own set of checks and balances. As such, it's not possible for us to provide a specific timeline for how long it will take for episodes from your Nucleus 2 RSS feed to show up on your podcast on various platforms.
But if you've followed the instructions above, it shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks for things to take effect. So be patient. You've done all you can do. Now it's time to wait (the hardest part of this process 😅)
What Next?
While you're waiting for your new RSS feed to take over your podcast, you can always start creating more sermons to populate your RSS feed. Or you can go back and work on linking Sermons to your website. (Or you can go make yourself a pot of coffee (or tea is that's more your style) as a reward to getting this done ☕️)
