Add & Manage Playlist, Speakers & Topics

Creating playlists, and also adding speakers and topics to your sermons, is a fantastic way to categorize your sermons, making it easy to search for specific messages and navigate your Sermon Hub.

Let's take a look at how to add some organization to your sermons.

In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.

Create & Manage Your Playlists

Playlists are a great way to group together sermons that belong together. Most of the time, this will likely be sermons that were preached together in succession as part of a sermon series. But you could also create playlists based on other criteria, like grouping all your previous Easter or Christmas messages together.

If you have the Playlists Section added to your Sermon Hub, people will be able to easily click to view your playlists. Each playlist will display in the exact order you have them set to appear.

To create a playlist, while in Nucleus Sermons, click Manage. Then from the dropdown, select Playlists. Click here for a quick link.

Next, click the + Create Playlist button.

Simply add a title & short description for the playlist you're trying to create. Once you've done that, click Save & Add Now.

Now that you have created a playlist, you're given a few different options:

  • You can add a primary image to your playlist by clicking + Add Image.
  • You can also click Edit Basic Info to make any adjustments to your playlist's title and description.

Either button will open up a space for you to edit the playlist's information. Once you've added an image and made any edits, click Save & Close.

Now it's time to add media to your playlist. To do this, click the + Add Sermon button.

Next use the search bar to look up the specific sermons you would like to add to the playlist. Once you find them, click the toggle switch to the on position for the sermons you want, and then click Add x Items to Playlist.

You can add a total of 300 sermons to a single playlist.

To reorder the sermons in your playlist, click the two lines on a sermon, drag it up/down, and then release it in the position you want it to appear.

To remove a sermon from your playlist, or to quickly access a sermon's settings, click the down arrow on a sermon and choose the Remove option.

To archive the playlist, choose Edit on a sermon, then click on Actions and select Archive. Then to go back to your master list of all your playlists, click Back To All.

While managing all of your playlists, you can reorder them in the same way you can reorder sermons in an individual playlist by clicking the two lines on a playlist, dragging it up/down, and then releasing it in the position you want it to appear in your Playlists Section on your Sermon Hub.

To archive a playlist, click the down arrow and select Archive. You can also see/manage any archived playlists by clicking on View Archived.

While viewing your archived playlists, you can choose to Delete a playlist, or by clicking on the down arrow, you can unarchive it.

Create & Manage Your Speakers

Each speaker you use in Sermons has their own dedicated page in the Sermon Hub showing a collection of all the sermons they've taught.

You can add speakers manually, or even better, you can pull from someone listed in your Leaders & Staff in your Church Settings to dynamically link them in Nucleus Sermons.

To get started, while in Nucleus Sermons, click Manage. From the dropdown, select Speakers. Click here for a quick link.

Next, click the + Create Speaker button to begin creating a new speaker.

Here you'll choose to either create a speaker by linking to a leader or by creating one manually. Linking to a leader pulls from your Staff & Leaders info which is located in your Church Settings. Once you've selected your speaker, click the Save & Add Now button.

Once a speaker is created they will appear in your manage speakers section. To edit a speaker you've just added, simply click the arrow icon on the right hand side and select Edit Speaker Info.

On the page that opens you can change the Display Name, Title/Role & Description. Selecting Edit Speaker Slug instead allows you to customize your speaker slug, although most of the time you shouldn't need to adjust this.

Finally, as you add more speakers, you can move them to be in a specific order by clicking the two lines beside a speaker name, dragging it up/down, and then releasing it in the position you want.

Create & Manage Your Topics

With each sermon, you can add multiple topics to allow for quick and easy ways to identify and search for content. You can add, edit, and update topics, or create them on the fly as you edit your sermons.

To get started, while in Nucleus Sermons, click Manage. Then from the dropdown, select Topics. Click here for a quick link.

From here, you can begin to add topics by clicking the + Add Topic button.

When adding a topic, you will be required to add a topic name with the option to add a short description. Once that's done, click Add New Topic.

As you add more topics, you can move them to be in a specific order on your Topics Section of your Sermon Hub by clicking the two lines on a playlist, dragging it up/down, and then releasing it in the position you want.

If you ever need to go back and edit the title or description of a topic, just click the Edit button on a topic. You can also delete a topic by clicking the down arrow and selecting Delete.

Next, you're probably wondering how to add a sermon to a topic. Easy!

Anytime you're creating or editing a sermon from your Sermons Panel here, you can easily add as many topics to that particular sermon as you'd like. Simply click the dropdown menu under Topics and click on the topic you wish to add.

Do this for as many topics as you'd like to add.

If you accidentally select a topic and want to remove it from the sermon, simply click the X beside the topic.

Don't forget to Publish your changes after you add topics to a sermon!

What Next?

If you're just navigating Nucleus Sermons for the first time, and you're following the checklist in your Dashboard, you're probably wondering how to finally create your sermons.
