Overview Of Payments

Flows are a powerful tool, capable of taking in as little or as much information as you need, all within a simple step-by-step submission process. But sometimes, you need a little more than just information.

While we wish everything in life were free, running events, providing resources for small groups, offering courses - they all have hard costs associated with them. In other words, sometimes you also need money 💰 Don't worry, Nucleus Flows has a step for that.

In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.

The Payment Step

Powered by Nucleus Giving (see below), you can add a Payment Step to any Flow to take in online payments. The Payment Step is even flexible enough so you can accept IOU's for those who might prefer to pay with checks or cash.

So rather than having to point people to an additional form to fill out their payment information on PayPal or whatever other popular payment platforms your church might use, you can take payment directly in the same Flow, making it an easier process for people signing up, and even easier for admins keeping track of submissions and payments associated with those submissions.

Easily Keep Track Of All Transactions

Nucleus Flows provides you with all the tools you need to keep track of transactions, not just by themselves, but also linking them to the results of each Flow so you know exactly which transaction belongs with which submission.

For instance, when you have a Payment Step, anytime you check the submissions, you will also see the transaction associated with it. Clicking on it showcases all the details pertaining to that individual transaction.

Want to see all transactions associated with that entire Flow? Not a problem. While viewing your Flow's results, click the Transactions tab and you can view all the transactions that have come through using the Payment Step.

Want to see all transactions for all your Flows? You can do that too! Simply click on Transactions in the main menu of Flows to view every transaction for any Payment Steps you have.

You can also create specific funds for each Payment Step to be linked with to help with reconciliation and bookkeeping. And while most of those transactions will likely be non-tax deductible, there might be times when making them tax deductible might make sense. Don't worry - you can do that too 😎

What Does "Powered By Nucleus Giving" Mean?

As stated earlier, the Payment Step in Flows is powered by Nucleus Giving. All transactions that occur in Flows runs from the same processing account that you open when you subscribe to Nucleus Giving. So in order to utilize the Payment Step in Nucleus Flows, you need to also have an active Nucleus Giving subscription and an active processing account.

Note: This also means that all donations and transactions through the Payment Step are deposited into the same bank account, and might be deposited together. Don't worry, though. Using the Transfers Panel in Church Settings, you'll be able to keep track of exactly which transactions were donations and which connect to a Flow submission. If you're interested in using the Payment Step but don't have an active Giving subscription or active processing account, feel free to send our Customer Success team a message to add Nucleus Giving to your subscription: hello@nucleus.church.
