Activate Your Processing Account

Before you spend a lot of time exploring the various areas of Nucleus Giving, it’s important to submit your processing application as soon as you can since there are several pieces of information required, and a few different steps involved in reviewing your application to fully activate your processing account.

But don’t worry - we promise it’s not scary! It’s super easy to fill out all the information directly within your Dashboard. Plus we have an extra, step-by-step guide you can follow here if you have any questions along the way.

It typically takes 5-7 business days (sometimes longer) for you to gain the ability to officially take in online donations. So if you’re anxious to get your processing account activated as quickly as possible, follow along below and you’ll be just fine 😎

Where To Access Your Financial Account

While you’ll manage much of your giving data in Nucleus Giving, there is a separate Financial Account section in your Church Settings (since your processing account can apply to both Giving and Flows). Click here for a quick link.

Note: Your Financial Account is where you’ll conduct most of your transfer/batch reconciliation, so feel free to invite your CPAs or other financial ministry assistants to your Church Settings, giving them specifically the Financial Assistant access level.

Verify Your Nucleus Account Email Address

Before you can fill out your processing application, you’ll need to make sure your email address is verified first. This helps secure your account and makes sure we can deliver important information to you. When initially creating your Nucleus Church Account, we send you an email to verify your email address, so it’s likely that you’ve already done this step (in which case you’ll see it checked off). But in case you haven’t yet done so, go check your inbox for an email from hello@nucleus.church to verify your email address.

Submit Your Processing Application

Once you’ve verified your email address, you’ll be able to begin filling out your application.

There are three major components of information required:

  1. Church Information (Basic & Legal) - Legal physical address, legal name, tax ID, etc.
  2. Account Signer’s Information - Someone “real” on the other side of the processing account that can legally sign for changes, such as if you ever need to change what bank account funds are deposited into
  3. Deposit Account - Your church’s bank account information, so our card processor knows what bank account to deposit funds into

The typical timeline from the moment you submit your application to when we send you the good news that your processing account is fully active is about 5-7 business days. While we desire for a speedy turnaround time, here’s a bit of a breakdown of why you can’t immediately begin taking in online donations:

  1. First, we review your application to make sure everything looks correct. We may ask a question or two for clarification purposes. (We’ll make note of what those typical questions are below).
  2. Once we approve your application, we submit it to the card processor we partner with (CardConnect), who then reviews your application in even further detail (and cross references the information you provide with what’s listed in the IRS database so there are no errors). Then if they have any questions, we will need to confer with you to provide them with the necessary information or updates.
  3. Once our card processor approves your application, then we can activate your account so you’re ready to accept donations!
