Customize The Promotion Section Of Your Sermon Hub

Sometimes it's hard to know where, and how often, to promote things without it being too "in your face" or not visible enough. Don't worry: the Promo Section can help with that!

Rather than needing to add a specific section to every single sermon you create, Nucleus Sermons provides one place where you can add promotion information you want to be available on all of the pages in your Sermon Hub.

Let's take a look at where this section lives, what types of information you can promote, and how to make adjustments to this section.

To get started, click on Sermon Hub while in Nucleus Sermons. Then, choose Promo Section in the left sidebar. Click here for a quick link.

What Is The Promo Section?

There’s a section at the bottom of every page of your Sermon Hub (right above the footer) you can use to promote subscribing to your church’s podcast, or something else. This is called the promotion section and regardless of what you choose to promote, it's a great tool to promote valuable calls to action to your church.


Customize The Promo Section

The layout to customize your promotion section should look very similar to what you might see while building out pages and individual sections within Nucleus Web. To start, let's look at the first couple options available to you at the top of the page.

Here you can change the Layout, Colors, Background, Text/Buttons and Styled Media.

The layout options will be identical to what you see when adjusting a section in Nucleus Web. Changing your layout is pretty straight forward. Selecting it allows you to choose a different design layout for how the promotion section will be presented on your Sermon Hub. You can also customize the Preferred Section Height/Text Width, Text Anchoring & the Section Inset/Paragraph Columns.

Selecting Text & Buttons gives you a wide range of width & alignment options including the alignment and even behavior of how buttons are presented within the promotion section on your Sermon Hub.

Switching to Colors allows you to choose a color palette variation based on the current color palette you have selected in the Design Section of Nucleus Web.

Selecting Background allows you to add images or video and adjust the background color. Images can be scaled to better present your image on the promotion section and video's can be added using a video URL from YouTube or Vimeo.

Switching to Media allows you to make additional adjustments to how your image or video looks and behaves. You can adjust blend modes, opacity, fade, choose how the image or video you've uploaded is scaled, and more!

Custom Code allows you to add Custom CSS if you have experience in doing so.

NOTE: This is an advanced area, and you can cause your promotion section to behave improperly or fail to load so proceed with caution.

Below these options in the promotion section you'll find the Text section. This is where any and all text tied to the layout you selected will be added.

Finally, the Actions section is where you can easily add one or more buttons to your promotion section and have them link to a variety of different options.


Find The Correct Podcast URL To Promote

It's important to note that if you choose to promote your podcast specifically in the promotion section that you use the correct podcast URL and not your RSS feed. This is a common mistake that is made and is important to avoid as adding your RSS feed will not take people to the correct place.

You can find the URL for your podcast through a podcast app on your phone, such a Spotify or Apple Podcasts, or by searching for your podcast online. If you're looking for it in your podcast app of choice, look for the option to share the podcast on the app and copy the URL it provides.


Preview & Publish Your Changes

Anytime throughout the process, if you want to see how the changes you’re making will appear to someone visiting your Sermon Hub/Promotional Section, simply click the Preview button.

NOTE: Remember, changes are auto-saved, so as long as it’s been a few seconds since your last edit, all of your changes will showcase in the preview.

Once you’re ready to set your changes live, click the Publish button.

Here, you can choose to make your changes live immediately (Yes! Publish Now). Or you can select Choose Date & Time to decide when you want your changes to be set live on your website and then click Save & Schedule.

You can also click to Add An Unpublish Date & Time for your changes to be unpublished. This is helpful especially when you're posting information about an upcoming event and you want to ensure that information isn’t displayed for longer than intended.
