Add, Manage & Share Your Collections
Playlists are a great way to manage sermons in your Sermon Hub. Sermons can exist in a series, or you can group themed sermons together, like all Christmas ones, or all Mother's Day ones, etc. But at the end of the day, Playlists are not necessary for a sermon to exist. A sermon can be a standalone piece of content.
Not so with Posts. Every Post you create must be included in a broader Collection. Not only does this help with organization of Posts, and also allows each ministry to manage their own Collection of Posts, but Collections enables the right audience is notified each time a new Post is published, so they can stay up to date with what's happening or coming up (like kids ministry volunteers, or men's ministry members, etc.).
So learning how to add & manage your Collections will become a very important part of maintaining a healthy Post Hub. To get started, go to Nucleus Posts in your Dashboard. Then click Manage in the main menu, and select Collections from the dropdown menu. Click here for a quick link.

In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.
- Create, Archive & Organize Your Collections
- Customize The Look Of A Collection
- Add Subscribers To Another Campaign's Audience
- Push Subscriber Information To Planning Center
- Adjust The Privacy Of A Collection
- Share A Collection
Create, Archive & Organize Your Collections
When you're ready to create a new Collection, while managing your Collections, click the + Create Collection. button.
Then, give your Collection a name and description. (This information will be used as part of the Collection's basic information and will be displayed on the front end of your Post Hub.) Then click Save.

Your new Collection will appear at the bottom of your list of Collections, but you can move this to be in whatever position you'd like. Click the two lines on the left side of the post, drag it up/down, and release it where you'd like it to appear.

This order of these Collections determines the order that they appear in your Post Hub, either in the Collections section on the main page of your Post Hub, or when viewing all your Collections.

If you no longer want a Collection to be active, on the far right, click the down arrow and click Archive. This will remove the Collection from your Post Hub.

If a Collection already has Posts added to it, those Posts will also be archived (and can be accessed here).

To access any archived Collections, click View Archived in the top right.
You can fully Delete an archived Collection, or you can unarchive it by clicking the down arrow on the far right of the Collection. (Though in most cases, to make sure you have a record of things, it's likely very rare that you will need to fully delete a Collection.)

Click View Unarchived to back to the list of active Collections.
Customize The Look Of A Collection
Clicking into the Collection that you just created, you can now add an image to your Collection. We recommend adding an image that doesn't contain text, as the title and description may appear overtop of it in the Post Hub, which would compete with any text in the image. Simply click + Add Image or drag and drop an image in the image container.

To edit the image, title, or description of your Collection, click Edit Basic Info.
Anytime you upload an image, you should always set the focal point. That way, Nucleus knows what to keep front and center no matter what device or browser is viewing that image.

Every Collection can have its own unique look and feel if you'd like by clicking on Customize Display.
The changes you make here will affect how the Collection's entire page looks like.
To change the color palette, select one of the four options that Nucleus auto-generates based on the color palette created in your Web Design settings here.
Next, you can customize the background of the header of your Collection's page. Click on Background. Then open Actions and select Edit.

Scrolling down to the very bottom, you can view a preview of what the Collection's header will look like. Right above this, you can adjust the color of the background.
If you change the color and you wish you hadn't, you can always reset your changes.
Note: Adjusting the color here allows you to go outside the set color boundaries enabled in your Web design settings here in your Dashboard. If you don't have an eye for design, it might be best to leave this or reset back to default settings 😁

If you've already added an image to your Collection, you will see the image affected by your changes to the color down in the Background Preview.
You can add both an image or video to your Collection's header. Simply click the Add Video or Add Image options. Then, paste the full video url or upload an image (by either clicking + Add Image or dragging and dropping an image into the editor).
Once you add a video or image, you will be able to toggle it "on" or "off". If you add both an image and video, Nucleus will display the image first as a fallback image until the video loads and begins playing and looping.

To further edit or add treatments to the media in your background, click + Show Media Style Controls. This will display up to 6 different treatments (with "Image Scaling" and "Image Tiling" being specific to a background image).

As you adjust any settings here, you will be able to preview in real time what your background will look like if you scroll down to the preview area of the editor.
You'll notice that the color displays as an overlay on top of your media. This is intentional, to help keep the actual information of the section at the forefront and ensure that it's as easy to read and "digest" as possible.
To truly see what your section now looks like, click the Close button at the bottom, or click the X button in the top right corner. Then click View Collection in the top right corner.

This will open a new tab in your browser to preview the entire page you're working on. Because Nucleus autosaves your work, now any time that you make changes in the editor, the preview page that's open in the new tab will continually refresh automatically as well.
Add Subscribers To Another Campaign's Audience
Anytime that you create a Collection, Nucleus automatically creates a Smart Campaign in Nucleus Messages. (To learn more about managing your Collection's Smart Campaigns, click here.) Anyone that subscribes to a Collection will automatically be added to that Collection's Smart Campaign.
If you'd like people to be automatically added to the Audience of another Campaign that you've set up in Nucleus Messages, you can!
While managing a Collection, click Settings.
Here, you can click the dropdown menu under Nucleus Messages, and select the other Campaign that you want subscribers to want to push subscribers of this Collection to as well.

Push Subscriber Information To Planning Center
If your church used Planning Center and you want to push subscribers to your Planning Center account, Nucleus offers a direct integration with PCO to make that happen.
While managing a Collection, click Settings, and scroll down.
If you have not yet connected Planning Center with your Nucleus account as a whole, you will need to do this first in your Dashboard's Church Settings here.

We have two guides that walk through how to connect your Nucleus and Planning Center accounts together, as well as how to push subscribers for a specific Collection to your Planning Center account. Take a look at these below 👇
Adjust The Privacy Of A Collection
In most cases, you'll likely want to keep a Collection public so that anyone can access the Posts in that Collection. In some instances, though, it might make sense to keep things private so that only certain people can access your Collection.
While managing a Collection, click Settings, and scroll to the bottom.
Here, you can choose between Public, Hidden, and Private.
- Public - Any person or robot on the internet can view, save or screenshot all Collection content. And it’s okay for this Post and its content to be indexed and stored by search engines (e.g. Google)
- Hidden - This content can still be seen or shared by anyone with the link. Hidden simply means it is unlisted and search engines will be told not to index the content. If you want your Collection fully protected, use the “Private” option
- Private - Requires a Nucleus login to access. This fully protects your entire Collection and prevents search engine indexing. Only those connected with your church who sign in and match the allowed types below can view. This can be helpful if you want to share more sensitive information with just members of your church, such as financial reports; or perhaps to keep missionary work and identities protected.
Note: You can have a public Collection and have certain Posts set to private, while other Posts are set to public. Setting a Collection to private will ensure all Posts in that Collection are protected.

Share A Collection
When you create a Collection, it is by default published (though any Posts added to it may not be). So technically the Collection is already shared on your Post Hub. But if you'd like to share the Collection manually with others, while managing a Collection, click Share.
Here, you can Click to Copy the public url for your Collection, or you can Click to Copy the preview url (for instance, if you do not have a domain connected to your Nucleus website yet).
