Manage My Payment Methods

Nucleus allows you to save multiple payment methods in your personal account to make it easier to donate or make payments to your church without having to manually enter your payment information every time.

Whether you're wanting to update a payment method for a recurring donation or simply save a payment method for future ease, let's take a look at how easy it is to manage your payment methods in your Nucleus account.

To get started, login to your personal Nucleus account here: https://my.nucleus.church

Add & Delete Payment Methods

While logged into your personal Nucleus account, click My Account, then select Payment Methods from the top menu. Click here for a quick link.

To add a new payment method, click + Add New.

Then select whether you're adding a credit card or bank account.

When choosing to add a credit card, you'll need to enter your credit card number, expiration date, CVV, and zip/postal code.

Once your information is added, click Save New Payment Method.

If you're adding a bank account, you'll have two options: to link your bank account using the Plaid integration, or enter your account information manually.

Link your account via Plaid.

Plaid is a secure 3rd party platform that several financial institutions utilize to connect bank accounts. (To learn about Plaid's security, click here.)

If you do any online banking (i.e. you have a login to your bank account online) and your bank has a partnership with Plaid, then you can link your account using Plaid rather than entering your bank account details manually.

To do this, click Get Started on the Plaid integration. This will open a modal over your screen. Click Continue.

In the next screen, you can choose to enter a phone number or continue as guest.

Then, you can search for your bank in the search bar.

If your bank appears as an option, this means your bank has a partnership with Plaid and you can link your bank account this way. Select your bank.

Note: If your bank doesn't appear as an option, this means they don't have a partnership with Plaid. But don't worry, you can always enter your bank account information manually instead. Just exit the Plaid modal and then click Add Manually. (See below for those instructions👇)

Depending on your bank institution, you can either login directly within the modal (like with TD Bank), or you will be able to click Continue to log in which will open another secure window to login.

Either way, you will need to enter whatever login credentials you use when signing into your online banking account.

Once in, you will be able to select which account (checking or saving) that you want to connect. Then click Continue.

Once your account is successfully linked to your Nucleus account, click Continue to exit the Plaid modal.

Lastly, make sure to save your changes.

Manually enter your bank account information.

If you would prefer to manually enter your bank account information (or your bank doesn't appear as an option within the Plaid modal), click Add Manually.

Here, you will need to enter the full name of the account holder, your bank account number, your bank's routing number, and select whether it's a checking or savings account.

Lastly, make sure to save your changes.

Note: When adding a bank account manually, there is always room for error, as Nucleus isn't able to check to confirm if the information is accurate. This means if you use this payment method for a future donation or payment to your church, it's possible the transaction will not be successful. So be sure to double and triple check that the information you've entered is accurate to avoid any failed transactions in the future.

To delete a previously saved payment method, simply click Delete and then confirm your selection.

And that's it! Much quicker than adding a new payment method, isn't it? 😅

Note: if you delete a saved payment method that is linked with an active scheduled/recurring donation, then the next time Nucleus goes to take that payment, our system will be unable to do so unless you link a new payment method to the scheduled/recurring donation. Update Scheduled & Recurring Donation Payment Methods

To find a scheduled or recurring donation, click the Nucleus logo in the top left corner and click My Giving. Then click on Schedules in the top menu.

Find the donation you'd like to update the payment method for, and click View.

While viewing the donation's details, click Edit. Here, you can update various details of your donation, but to update the payment method connected with this donation, click the dropdown menu under Payment Method and select the new one you wish to be linked to your donation. you can see all the details pertaining to it.

Then click to Save Changes below. Now when your next transaction is scheduled for this donation, it will be taken from the new payment method connected with it.

Access Saved Payment Methods When Making Donations Or Payments

What makes saving payment methods so helpful is when making donations or payments to your church in the future.

The next time you're donating to your church through their GivingFlow, or the next time you're entering details to complete a Flow that requires payment, you can access your saved payment method(s) to make completing the Flow that much easier.

Anytime you encounter a Payment Step in your church's Launcher (the modal that houses the GivingFlow and all your church's other next steps), you will have the opportunity to enter the payment information manually to sign in to access your saved payment methods.

Clicking to Use Saved Info, sign in using the email address and password you us to login to your personal Nucleus account.

Then click Continue.

Now, you can select which saved payment method you want to use for this particular Payment Step.

What's more, if you click Sign In in the top right of The Launcher at any point, then whenever you encounter a Payment Step anywhere in your church's Launcher, Nucleus will automatically showcase your payment options.

However, if you're not using a personal device, make sure to always log out of The Launcher once you're finished.
