Customize & Publish Your Prayer Hub

While the PrayerHub is specifically engineered with predetermined elements and steps to provide the best experience, you do have a few options available to you to make your Prayer Hub more unique to your own church.

And of course, once your Prayer Hub is customized and set up just the way you like it, it’s time to set it live on your website - which is both exciting and super easy to do.

Note: If you haven’t already gone through the steps of setting up your Prayer Hub and exploring the privacy and moderation tools, we highly recommend going back to the Set Up Your Prayer Hub guide first and then come back to finish this guide. While it’s not imperative to do so, you will likely be missing out on key features that the Prayer Hub offers.

In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.

Step 1: Adjust Your Prayer Hub's Title & Status Pages

To ensure all communication to those interacting with the Prayer Hub is excellent, you have a few different options to customize some important messaging throughout your Prayer Hub.

First is the title of your Prayer Hub. While we will always refer to it as the Prayer Hub (both in our Help Center and in the Nucleus Dashboard), perhaps you have a different name that will better communicate with your church what the Prayer Hub is. Or perhaps you don’t even want to showcase a title for it at all!

While viewing your Prayer Hub in Nucleus Prayer, select Customize in the left sidebar. You should automatically land on the Title tab in the submenu Click here for a quick link.

If you make any adjustments, just make sure to save your changes.

The next item to review are some important messages people might encounter while interacting with the Prayer Hub. In the next tab over, select Status Pages. Click here for a quick link.

Here, you’ll see the Welcome Screen message and the “No Access” Screen message. If someone tries to access the Prayer Hub without being logged in, they’ll encounter the Welcome Screen. Once someone is logged in, if they don’t have the correct Connection Type on their Nucleus profile to view the Prayer Wall, they will also encounter the “No Access” screen.

While we’ve already crafted both the titles and body text for both screens, you can adjust the wording to your liking and then save those changes.

Step 2: Modify Your PrayerFlow’s “Thank You” Page

Within the Prayer Hub exists the PrayerFlow, where people can actually submit prayer requests (and publish them to the Prayer Wall). Once people complete the PrayerFlow, they will see a “Thank You” page. While we’ve already crafted a message, you can personalize what each member reads here that’s more unique to your church.

To do this, click on PrayerFlow in the left sidebar. This should automatically take you to the “Thank You” Page tab in the submenu. Click here for a quick link.

Now simply edit your “Thank You” Title and “Thank You” Message. Then click the Save Changes button once you're all finished.

Step 3: Customize Your PrayerFlow’s Receipt Email

When someone submits a prayer request, they also provide their email address. In doing so, our system will automatically send them a digital record of their submission to their email address. It looks like this 👇

To customize your PrayerFlow’s Receipt Email, click on the Receipt Email tab in the submenu. Click here for a quick link.

Here, you can add a custom message to your receipt to help personalize each receipt.

Note: Every receipt will be sent in the same format with details about the person’s prayer request. The custom message you enter will simply be added to the receipt right at the top below your church name.

Once you’re happy with your message, click the Save Changes button.

Step 4: Arrange Any Private Inboxes In Your PrayerFlow

Private Inboxes allow people to choose who they want to submit their prayer request to. While the General Inbox will still be an option (displayed as The Prayer Team), you could have an inbox that only a specific pastor will have access to, or perhaps a counselor on staff. Private Inboxes provides you with more privacy options for people to share their prayer requests.

To learn how to create Private Inboxes, Click here.

When someone submits a prayer request and one or more Private Inboxes exist, they will have the option to select who they want to share their prayer request with:

  1. The first option is Our Church (Prayer Wall). These requests are published to your digital Prayer Wall.
  2. The second option is Just The Prayer Team. These requests land in the General Prayer Inbox in your Nucleus Dashboard.
  3. Below these two options are any visible Private Inboxes. Only admins with access to those specific inboxes will be able to see those requests.

To arrange the order in which these Private Inboxes are displayed in the PrayerFlow selection (or to determine whether they are visible in the PrayerFlow), select Private Inboxes in the submenu. Click here for a quick link.

To change the order of your Private Inboxes, simply click on the two lines to the right of an inbox, and drag it up/down to your desired spot in the list of inboxes.

By default, all Private Inboxes are set to Always Shown, but if you’d like, you can change it so certain ones are Hidden.

If a Private Inbox is hidden, the only way for prayer requests to land in that inbox is if it is manually moved from the General Prayer Inbox to that particular Private Inbox.

Once you’re satisfied with your new order (and statuses of your Private Inboxes), scroll down and click the Save Changes button.

Step 5: Preview Your Prayer Hub

At any point in time while you’re editing and customizing your Prayer Hub, you can preview and test it out. This allows you to experience what someone from your church might experience as they interact with it on your website.

At any point in time while accessing the Prayer Hub in Nucleus Prayer, you can click on the Preview button.

This will load the Prayer Hub in full screen mode in a new tab. Feel free to submit test prayer requests and publish fake requests to the Prayer Wall. (You can always archive/delete these later.)

Note: Though you’re in preview mode, any requests you submit or publish will actually be submitted to your Prayer Inbox and published to your Prayer Wall. This provides you with the best experience of what managing prayers or requests to access the Prayer Wall will be like. But keep in mind, any email address you enter will create a person record in your database, so try not to use fake email addresses as you test things out. (If you do, you can always hide those people records later.)

To go back to the Dashboard, simply go back to the correct tab in your web browser.

Step 6: Add Your Prayer Hub To The Launcher

If you’re happy with your customizations, it’s time to add your Prayer Hub to The Launcher! Doing this will provide anyone who lands on your church’s website with the opportunity to share prayer requests and to view the Prayer Wall - no matter what webpage they land on!

To get started, click on Share in the side menu. Click here for a quick link.

Then select Add To Your Launcher. This will take you directly to The Launcher admin panel.

From there, click the + Add New button.

Then name your managed action, select Nucleus Prayer and click the Save New Item button.

Click the Setup button and choose Prayer Hub from the dropdown menu.

If you’d like, add an emoji or short description and then click Save Changes.

Why can I choose between connecting the Prayer Hub & the PrayerFlow?

You might be wondering what the difference is between connecting the Prayer Hub and the PrayerFlow in The Launcher.

As discussed here, the Prayer Hub contains all three features:

  • the PrayerFlow (where people can actually submit prayer requests)
  • the Prayer Wall (where people can view shared prayer requests on a private digital prayer wall)
  • Prayer Time (where people can begin a non-distracting focus mode in The Launcher to pray for all the prayer requests shared on the Prayer Wall)

Some churches may not want to utilize the Prayer Wall, and so we offer the ability to only link the PrayerFlow to allow for people to still submit prayer requests to the church, without the ability to share those requests on the digital private Prayer Wall.

What next?

Now that people can submit and share prayer requests, it’s time to start rallying together your Prayer Team. If you haven’t yet already invited your team to access your General Prayer Inbox, why don’t you go ahead and do so now!

If you're new to Nucleus, it might also be a good idea to explore The Launcher, as this is where your Prayer Hub will live. (Plus, The Launcher is 100% free 😎)
