Set Up Your Prayer Hub
To make the most of Nucleus Prayer, you’ll want to use the Prayer Hub. The Prayer Hub helps your people share prayer requests, view and pray for one another’s needs, and utilize a distraction-free mode. The three main parts of the Prayer Hub - PrayerFlow, Prayer Wall, and Prayer Time - provide this in an elegant interface, all nestled perfectly in The Launcher by Nucleus. So let’s dive into all the basic settings and controls to quickly get set up.
In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.

Pairs With The Launcher by Nucleus
Nucleus Prayer, while its own separate product, is designed to be used in The Launcher by Nucleus. The best part? Both products are free - so you can make use of both The Launcher and Nucleus Prayer on your church’s website at no cost to you.
Because the Prayer Hub works in The Launcher, you’ll want to make sure you set that up first, getting it quickly customized and installed on your church’s website. You can learn all about The Launcher by Nucleus and how to set it up here. (Don’t worry, it’s super simple.)
No Need To Design Your Prayer Hub
By extension, because the Prayer Hub lives in The Launcher, the Prayer Hub automatically inherits all the design and color options you set for The Launcher. This makes it that much easier to get started with the Prayer Hub!
But just because you don’t need to worry about design options doesn’t mean there aren’t any customization options! (More on that later.)
Features Of The Prayer Hub
Though briefly explored in the What Is Nucleus Prayer? article, it’s good to revisit the three distinct features of the Prayer Hub so you get started on the right foot.
The PrayerFlow
This is where people can submit prayer requests, deciding whether to share it with just the Prayer Team, (your church’s Nucleus Prayer admins) post it on your church’s Prayer Wall or to share prayer requests to a private inbox, which is helpful if someone wants to ask for prayer from just a particular pastor or group.
The Prayer Wall
This is where prayers can be posted and viewed by anyone in your church who is logged in and allowed to access it. When signed in, people can also opt-in to receive email notifications whenever a new prayer request is posted. That way, they can immediately hear about and pray for the latest requests!
Prayer Time
This is a distraction-free way to intentionally pray for everyone who has shared a request on the Prayer Wall. Helpful for praying on your own when all you have is your phone, or in a group of people when displaying the prayers on a larger screen.

Create Private Inboxes
When you first go to Nucleus Prayer, you’ll land on your general Prayer Inbox. This is where all requests submitted through the PrayerFlow will land - unless you have Private Inboxes created.
Private Inboxes allow people to choose who they want to submit their prayer request to. While the General Inbox will still be an option (displayed as The Prayer Team), you could have an inbox that only a specific pastor will have access to, or perhaps a counselor on staff. Private Inboxes provides you with more privacy options for people to share their prayer requests.
To create a Private Inbox, go to your Prayer Inbox in Nucleus Prayer. Then click Manage Inboxes in the left sidebar. Click here for a quick link.
Then select +Add New.
Simply enter a name and then choose whether to showcase this option in the PrayerFlow. Giving it as an option in the PrayerFlow is the best way so people can self-select into it. However, even if you don’t make it available in the PrayerFlow (i.e. you select No, Don't Show), it’s always possible for an admin with access to the General Prayer Inbox, to manually sort and move prayers into any Private Inbox later.) When you’re done, just click Save Changes.
Enable Privacy & Moderation Controls
Nucleus Prayer offers a wide range of privacy and moderation controls.
Let’s explore what’s built in. Besides, everyone likes free, right? 😎
Privacy Controls For Access To The Prayer Hub
Because the Prayer Hub exists in The Launcher, which is public on the internet, it’s important to ensure that only those who should have access to the Prayer Wall (which exists inside your Prayer Hub) can access it. Otherwise, any prayer request published on the Prayer Wall could be viewed by any passerby on the internet - which isn’t very private at all 😳
So without sounding repetitive, it’s important to set up privacy controls for your Prayer Hub.
To do so, while on your Prayer Hub in Nucleus Prayer, click on Manage Access in the left sidebar. Then select the Privacy Controls tab from the submenu.
Note: The Prayer Hub’s privacy controls rely heavily on Connection Types. So if you’re unfamiliar with Nucleus Connection Types, it might be best to check out our Set Up Connection Types guide here and then come back.
First, you will be asked who can see the Prayer Wall. Below this, you can select all those who can access it. This list is directly linked with your account’s Connection Types.
If an option is selected in this list, that means whoever has that particular Connection Type associated with their Nucleus profile will be able to access the Prayer Wall. But if someone doesn’t have that Connection Type associated with their profile, they can request to access the Prayer Wall, but won’t be able to view anything until an admin approves them.

Prayer Wall Moderation & Notifications
Nucleus Prayer moderation allows an admin to first approve a prayer request before it’s published to the Prayer Wall - or even the ability to edit a prayer request that’s been shared to the Prayer Wall.
You can also edit a request (for corrections like typos, grammar, etc.) before publishing it to the Prayer Wall.
And you can even be notified by email whenever a new prayer request needs approval!
Preview & Test Your Prayer Hub
At any point in time while you’re editing and customizing your Prayer Hub, you can preview and test it out. This allows you to see what someone from your church might experience as they interact with it on your website.
At any point in time while accessing the Prayer Hub in Nucleus Prayer, you can click on the Preview button.
This will load the Prayer Hub in full screen mode in a new tab. Feel free to submit test prayer requests and publish fake requests to the Prayer Wall. (You can always archive/delete these later.)
Note: Though you’re in preview mode, any requests you submit or publish will actually be submitted to your Prayer Inbox and published to your Prayer Wall. This provides you with the best experience of what managing prayers or requests to access the Prayer Wall will be like. But keep in mind, any email address you enter will create a person record in your database, so try not to use fake email addresses as you test things out. (If you do, you can always hide those people records later.)
To go back to the Dashboard, simply go back to the correct tab in your web browser.
What next?
Setting up your Prayer Hub is only half the fun. The other half is adding it to The Launcher and seeing people start to share their prayer requests with your church’s Prayer Team and on your digital Prayer Wall.
