Share Your Flows
Now that you've created some Flows, it's time to start making them available for people to start submitting them, signing up for various events, and taking next steps towards Christ.
(Of course, if you haven't created any Flows yet, you'll need to do that first.)
You can share your Flows in a variety of ways, depending on your needs or how easily accessible you want your Flows to be. Let's take a look at our recommended ways of sharing your Flows, along with other still important avenues you can take to do this.
In this guide, we'll cover the following topics. Click on any one to jump ahead.
- Publish Your Flow
- Is Your Launcher Ready To Go?
- Add Your Flow To The Launcher
- Connect Your Flow To An Action In Nucleus Web
- Share Your Permanent URL
- Create & Share A Trigger Link
- Install A Flow On A Website Outside Of The Launcher (Advanced)
Publish Your Flow
Before you do anything, you'll first want to make sure that your Flow is published. While you can technically still share a Flow that's not yet published, no one will be able to access it when they click on the Flow. So there's not much point in sharing it if your Flow isn't published.
To see if a Flow has been published, start by going to All Flows, then click Manage beside the Flow you want to access.
Check to see if the Publish Changes button is greyed out. If it is, then all your latest changes are already published.
But if the button is a vibrant purple, that means you have changes that haven't yet been published. Click the Publish Changes button to make that happen.
Is Your Launcher Ready To Go?
The Launcher is a powerful tool that can be installed on virtually any website. The Launcher can house all your most important next steps that people can take 7 days of the week, rather than having to wait until your next church service.
If you haven't yet set up and designed The Launcher, you'll want to make sure you do that. Here's a guide to get you started.
The next thing is, you'll want to make sure you understand how to build and add actions to The Launcher. Here's an overview on how to do that.
Lastly, if you are planning on using The Launcher on a non-Nucleus Website, you'll also need to first install The Launcher on your website. (The Launcher comes pre-installed on your Nucleus Website.) Here's a guide to help with that.
Add Your Flow To The Launcher
Adding a Flow to The Launcher is easy and just takes a few clicks.
Start by clicking Next Steps on your Nucleus Dashboard or in the dropdown in the top left hand corner.
Next, click the + Add New button on the right hand side.
Then name the action. (This will likely be the name of your Flow or something similar to it. But you can label this whatever would make the most sense for people to understand what they'd be filling out information for.)
As you type, options will appear below for you to choose which type of action you want this to be. Select Nucleus Flows. Save New Item.
Click & drag the two lines up/down and order the action to you desired place in The Launcher. Then click Setup beside the newly created Action.
Now choose the Flow you want linked to this action by clicking the dropdown.
Feel free to add an emoji and a description below. This will appear if you're making this action a featured action in The Launcher, where it will appear at the top of all the other actions in a more prominent way. Once you've filled that out, click Save Changes.
If you want to preview your Launcher, click the Preview button. This will open a new tab where you can open The Launcher and see your new item that's connected to your Flow.
NOTE: Even though you're looking at a preview, if you fill out your Flow, this will count as an actual submission. So if you have any quantity limits added to the Flow, your submission will count in that.
Connect Your Flow To An Action In Nucleus Web
Actions can exist is a multitude of areas in your Nucleus Website. The process of creating an action is exactly the same wherever you decide to add an action.
Below are the main places where you can add an action in Nucleus Web:
Navigation Menus
You can add a Flow to any of your navigation (main or footer) menus by going to Nucleus Web and clicking the Navigation tab. Then choose to edit either the Main or Footer menu.
Page Sections (Generically)
Most section layouts allow you to add actions to the overall section (without being tied to the specific type of section you create). In the section where you would like to add a Call To Action, simply scroll down to the Actions section, then click Add an Action.
Page Sections (Specifically)
Depending on the type of section, there might be other areas in a particular section where you can add actions such as:
Manually Added Cards
Lists
Share Your Permanent URL
Each individual Flow has its own Permanent URL that you can copy and paste anywhere you like to make accessing your Flow super easy. You can add the Permanent URL to your link & bio in social media, in a post on your preferred social platform, in a hyperlink in an email, etc.
To access the Permanent URL, go to All Flows, and click Manage beside the Flow you want to use.
Once you've selected a Flow, on the left hand menu click Share and then select Permanent URL.
Finally, just click the Copy button and paste the Permanent URL wherever you like.
Create & Share A Trigger Link
If you've installed The Launcher on your website and want a link to open The Launcher directly to a specific Flow, creating and using a Trigger Link is the way to do this.
You can add a trigger link directly on your website just like you can add any other hyperlink. Clicking on that hyperlink will open The Launcher directly to that Flow.
NOTE: If you're using a Nucleus Website, creating an action is most likely the better option for you, since you can link directly to a Flow in the action, and it will automatically open The Launcher to that Flow. Click here to read the above instructions.
Or you can share a trigger link in an email, on social media or link it to a QR code. Clicking on the trigger link will take you to to your church's website and automatically open The Launcher to that specific Flow.
To find your Flow's trigger link, first go to All Flows, then click to Manage a specific Flow.
Once you've selected a Flow, on the left hand menu click Share and then select Trigger Links.
Install A Flow On A Website Outside Of The Launcher (Advanced)
There may be instances where you want to install a Flow directly on a website in the same manner that you can install The Launcher.
This is an advanced feature that most people will not need, however it is an option available to use. The most common use case for this is if you have a specific landing page where you don't want The Launcher to be installed, but you want people to easily access a particular Flow on that page.
Because this is a more advanced feature, we have a specific guide for installing a Flow directly on a website. Click here to view that.
What Next?
Once people can start accessing your Flows, you'll want to make sure that you know how to manage your submissions, as well as making sure that the correct admins can access specific Flows and/or receive notifications whenever there's a new submissions, should that be helpful to turn on.
